Preloading for PC is available once you've pre-purchased the game via Steam. It's been speculated that if you pre-order the game for Nintendo Switch, you may be able to preload it earlier however, no confirmation has been made so far. If you've pre-ordered the PlayStation 4 or 5 versions of the game, preloading will become available two days before launch on 22nd February 2023. Can You Preload Octopath Traveler 2 Before It Releases? Start your adventure by choosing between one of eight playable characters in the world of Solistia. Likewise, you can play all eight playable characters and progress their individual stories in the demo before the full game's release. This demo covers the first three hours of Octopath Traveler 2 with Save Data enabled, allowing you to carry over all game progress to its full version from launch. The game also has a Prologue Demo available to play before its release, which you can acquire from various digital marketplaces, including Steam. Square Enix will also make preloading available for those who pre-ordered the game its dates are platform-dependent (more on this later). As for its release time, it has yet to be confirmed by the publisher as of writing however, we can safely assume that players can start playing the game at 12 am local time for their preferred platform.
